CHEZ SYL the game came together in the HALL CORNER as a way for those students to pass time,
winners of ten games were allowed
back into the class.
CHEZ SYL is more than just a game—it’s a brilliant blend of strategy, language mastery, and a test of memory wrapped in an engaging competitive experience. Born from the corner of a high school hallway, this game takes a playful approach to words, syllables, and deduction, challenging players to sharpen their linguistic skills while racing to victory.
Game Setup and Play
CHEZ SYL is played digitally on phones or tablets by two players, each choosing to play Side A or Side B. With 300 cards divided into English, French, and bilingual categories, the game offers incredible variety. Players select a card number between 1 and 100, then scroll through the CHEZ SYL files to find the corresponding card on their respective devices.
Each player begins with four coins placed out in the open, signifying their progress. Every turn, players attempt to guess goal words or phrases, using carefully crafted clues and partially obscured words to decipher the answer. If a player guesses correctly, they reclaim a coin; the first player to remove all four wins the game! For those without coins, simple paper-and-pencil tracking works just as effectively.
The beauty of CHEZ SYL lies in its strategic progression. Neither player can see the opponent’s card, ensuring fairness while building suspense. Incorrect guesses lead to the correct answer being revealed, reinforcing learning and memory-building—a clever touch that makes each round both competitive and educational.
